Should the property be subject to mortgage or have a loan
secured against it, permission is normally required from the
Building Society, Bank etc., before the property is let.
The Landlord is therefore obliged to inform their mortgage
lender as soon as possible of their intention to let, so
that unnecessary delay is not incurred once a suitable
Tenant has been found. Your lender may require special
notices to be served on the tenant prior to the agreements
being signed and in these circumstances Tattersalls must be
advised at least three days before the agreements are
signed. It remains the Landlord’s responsibility to arrange
any mortgage payments. Certain lenders can charge up to
£100.00 as an administration fee as well as up to 1%
additional interest.
If your property is leasehold you must obtain permission to
let in writing from the Freeholder.
